Modern Foreign Languages

Modern Foreign Languages at Selby Community Primary School aim to equip children with the language skills needed to learn foreign languages. Children are taught how to listen carefully to sounds, to read and write, alongside correct pronunciation, intonation and techniques for memorising vocabulary, phrases and short extracts.

Autumn Term 2016

Year 2 Curriculum
Year 3 Curriculum
Year 4 Curriculum
Year 5/6 Curriculum

Children learn to use and respond to the foreign language to ask and answer questions; to use context and clues to interpret meaning and to make use of their knowledge of English or another language in learning the foreign language.

We aim to bring Modern Foreign Languages alive by ensuring lessons are fun and action packed. Children also learn about other countries and cultures.

We want our children to make the most of our multi-lingual world.
